Elegia Memnosyne: Tonight →
myelegia:
Tonight I am dark With a thirst for you My blood a crimson toxic Starved of your air
It lends my skin A charcoal pallor Thick and heavy as City air
Your wrists are pale Are they not? Your fingers tremble Your eyes shine Your throat dewy With perspiration
Let me move Through you …
love it

Why? Scared ? Laziness?
meow-tse-tung asked: What was the last time you lost the nerve? Did you find it yet?

I got me a new friend
I’m still new to narrative poems and I still hope to get to write longer than this, but I did like this one.
Crouched against the wall, His arms rubbed against the inside of his legs His back stretched against his muscles I returned one day from work and there he was Whimpering, growling, clenching his sharp teeth Keeping his face hidden to the corner of the wall As...

So You Want To Be A Writer?
By Charles Bukowski
if it doesn’t come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don’t do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don’t do it.
if you have to sit for hours
staring at your computer screen
or hunched over your
typewriter
searching for words,
don’t do it.
if you’re doing it...

Despite the fact that French is my native language, I write (and sometimes speak) mostly in English. Sometimes I write poetry in French just to keep it fresh.
Ville Fantôme
Les fantômes urbains se côtoient dans les rues
Ayant perdu toute racine a la terre
Les fantômes urbains se durcissent sur l’asphalte qu’ils piétinent
Et les métaux qui les transportent les immunisent contre tout...

I took a poetry class last quarter and I heard that no one used to make money out of poetry, it was something to simply share and enjoy with friends, family or an audience and maybe, just maybe if they feel like it, they might give something. I needed to hear that. Now I write more freely, I hear the voice, in this case her voice and I try to capture it the best I can.
I refuse to be that dog,...

– Malcolm X (via hellokush)
My little cousin who is nine years old and doesn’t know better has been telling me that she’s American because she’s born here, if only she knew, if only everyone who chooses to call himself or herself knew the history behind that title. You can’t...
