between two quick breaths
long enough enough for me to see
myself break out of my shell
and drink in
the light from your eyes
one soulful sip at a time
you seem so pleased with yourself
a mischievous smile playing
at the corner of those full, red lips
you are going to be the death of me
but I wouldn’t die any other way
so let’s seal this moment with a kiss
that will gently slip us into eternity
