We were sunburnt, baked to red
and our eyes stung horribly
as we measured in our wet suits and tallied
how much salt is there on each our sea.
But a sea is a sea, regardless of its name-
or how coarse the sands are on its shores,
no matter how much rainwater falls from the skies,
in the end the sea is salty, enough to sting our eyes.
